Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh dying to work together

Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha, who made impressive debuts last year with ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ and ‘Dabangg’, respectively, are eager to work with each other.

Sonakshi bagged multiple awards this year for her role opposite Salman Khan in the blockbuster movie ‘Dabangg’, while Ranveer impressed as a Delhi-boy in romantic comedy ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’.


"I would love to work with Sonakshi. She is a brilliant performer and I hope we work together soon. Although nothing is fixed as of now," Ranveer told reporters here.

Sonakshi has big projects in her kitty -- she has ‘Joker’ with Akshay Kumar, ‘Race 2’ and a film with Kamaal Hassan, but she too wants to work Ranveer.

"We do want to work together. We talked about it, but he is very busy with his project at the moment and my line up of films is also sorted. So we don`t have the opportunity now. It will take at least another year before we can work together," said the actress.

At the moment, Ranveer is busy with Yash Raj Films production ‘Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl’, being directed by Maneesh Sharma.

Deepika Padukone's forthcoming films take her to London's cooler climes. She beats the heat with Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz, Rajnikanth's Rana and Homi Adjania's untitled project with Saif Ali Khan.

However, she will make her appearances during the IPL season.

She muses, "It's all for work. One has to keep travelling, this time it's almost for three long months. But, I do plan to come back when my schedules allow me."

Deepika leaves before the release of Dum Maaro Dum. She features in an item number in the film.

Actress Sonakshi Sinha wants to prove that she is truly "Dabangg" when it comes to her professional career. Brushing aside the rumours that she wants to refrain from doing item numbers, the actress came out saying that she is not scared of doing them.

The 23-year-old, who has shown her dancing expertise on stage at various award shows earlier this year, revealed that she has no problems in joining the lines of Katrina Kaif, Malaika Arora Khan and Mallika Sherawat by doing an item number, but she has to be comfortable in doing so.

"I'm not scared of doing item numbers. For me, when I did stage shows, I was wearing what I was comfortable in and the moves that I was doing were also what I was comfortable doing. So all depends on comfort. If what is offered to me, I'm comfortable doing that, then I might just take it up. I'm not averse to it, " Sonakshi told reporters here.

Sonakshi, the daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, has laid down various rules for herself. She has been maintaining that she won't be doing any kissing scenes in films and also won't sport a bikini on screen ever.

Yet the budding actress has been getting plump Bollywood offers. After her debut film "Dabangg" with Salman Khan, the actress will be seen in "Joker" with Akshay Kumar and is also a part of "Race 2".

At an event Tuesday, she was also named as the brand ambassador of fashion brand Provogue, that has had actors like Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Fardeen Khan and Katrina Kaif endorsing it in the past.

"I'm very happy to be associated with Provogue. I think they've seen how my career is shaping up and they think that I'm able to contribute to their brand in some way as a brand ambassador. So very happy about this association and hopefully it will be a long and fruitful one for both of us, " said Sonakshi.

Actor Ranveer Singh of "Band Baajaa Baraat" fame says the casting couch does exist in the Hindi film industry as small time casting directors and agents try to exploit newcomers.

"Unfortunately the casting couch exist in our industry. I don't think it exists in the high rung studios because the stakes are too high, the money involved and the people involved are too professional," the 25-year-old told reporters here.

"But at the lower rung, smaller casting directors and agents... give the fraternity a bad name."

Ranveer, a panelist at the ongoing FICCI-FRAMES Conclave, revealed that in his struggling days he too met such people.

"Fortunately or unfortunately, I did have the experience of meeting such sleazy gentleman. So it definitely exists," he said. 

Salman, Aamir starrer ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ to have a sequel?

Rajkumar Santoshi’s cult comedy, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ is going to have sequel. But the original cast of Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor won’t feature in the new film. Wondering why? The sequel will be an animation film.



Speaking to a leading daily, Sidhartha M Jain of iRock Productions revealed, "We have plans underway for ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ sequel. Unlike the original that was live action, the sequel will be an animation film. This is the first time in India that such a thing is happening."

When asked whether the lead actors will be a part of the project, Jain said, "We are still looking for a director for the second instalment and once that is finalised we`ll talk to Salman and Aamir to voice the characters. If that doesn`t materialise, we will go for other alternatives. But for now the idea is to have the Khans on board," he signed off.

Let’s hope the film has the original cast even if they are just lending their voices to the characters, because without Aamir and Sallu, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ will not be the same.

Says a source close to the director, "Manya plays a street walker and was excited to hear that her character had been inspired by a real sex worker whose story Deepti had heard through a friend. Koirala plays a sex worker who finds it difficult to survive."

The challenge was to make the actress look ordinary. "Deepti wanted a sari-clad sex worker and not a mini-skirt clad one someone who is a bit neglected.

She wears dark red lipstick, keeps her hair open and wears dark and bright colours like red, maroon and purple. She had to look like a mother and struggler."

First ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ Trailer Debuts : Hi Fi Mumbai

Going into the first trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides I wasn’t expecting much. I mean, honestly, there isn’t that much Disney could do to surprise us with this one. The best they can do is hope to pick up where the original film left off...and holy crap they do!

It seems they’ve taken away all the dreary parts of the first three films (*ahem* Orlando Bloom) and replaced him with Ian McShane as Blackbeard. And since Orlando is out of the picture, that means Keira Knightley is too which means Jack needs a sexy new love interest and we have it here with Penelope Cruz. My only concern is that “zombies” might be a little too much since it seems Jack is going up against the British, mermaids, the nature around the Fountain of Youth, and then zombies. Do we have a little sequel-itis with too many villains? I don’t think so. The action doesn’t seem as hokey, the humor is there in droves, and Keith Richards makes a return. How can we ask for more?

Ajay unhappy with Kajol !!!!!

It is almost as if Ajay Devgn is discovering new dimensions to his relationship with wife Kajol. If a very reliable trade source is to be believed, the actor is openly singing paens about his wife's talent. This is rather strange because Ajay and Kajol have been married for 11 years. And neither has gone gaga about each other in public, until now!

Anyway what prompted this diatribe is information saying that Ajay is not happy with the We Are Family promotions.The source says, "Ever since the first interview for WAF appeared, Ajay felt that Kajol should have been positioned differently from Kareena."
According to information available, it is said that Ajay feels Kajol (quite obviously) is in a different league as an actress as opposed to the younger Kareena. And so he feels that Karan should give Kajol a different kind of placement in the whole publicity campaign instead of making it seem like Kajol and Kareena are on par."
TOI asked Kajol if she was aware of her husband's "anguish" and as usual she spoke her mind. "Listen I don't know if Ajay is anguished or any such thing. If you say that he wants me to be more prominent than Bebo in the WAF campaign, I will understand. After all I'm his wife and he is bound to be biased towards me."
Kajol even joked that if this matter is true, then she would go home and advise her husband to take up the issue with her best friend Karan. Ajay, in defence of his bias, said, "Kajol is the best actress Bollywood has. I will naturally look out for her interests in every way and in every campaign. But honestly, who am I to complain about how Karan should go about with the publicity of his film? As for me being unhappy with Kajol being placed on par with Kareena, that's not entirely true. Like I said, Kajol is the finest actress around but Kareena is also very good in her own place. Bebo is a friend. She is also my heroine. I've done Golmaal Returns and Omkaara with her. I'm currently shooting with her for Golmaal 3. This is a very sensitive issue. I won't be a hypocrite and say that I like Kajol and Kareena equally. But I don't wish to start any controversy."
Of course, when pushed to say who he would give his vote to, Ajay grinned sheepishly and said, "Kajol. She is terrific." Guess after Ajay it will be Saif Ali Khan's turn to pick his favourite. And no prizes for guessing which of the two Ks Saif will choose.

Deepika to complete her graduation : Hi Fi Mumbai

HT City asked Bollywood stars who are drop-outs, if they would like to give studies a second shot. Actor Aamir Khan, who did not pursue college after class 12, says he doesn't “believe in formal education”.

However, actress Deepika Padukone, who started working after class 12, has enrolled in a correspondence course. “I promise one day I’ll complete my studies,” she says. Actress Prachi Desai, who became a TV actress at 17, says, “I feel unfortunate and embarrassed. I took admission in college, but was unable to attend it regularly. One day, I’ll complete it, God willing.”

Singer Sunidhi Chauhan adds, “I left studies for music. Though I don’t regret it, I wouldn’t mind completing my studies.” Thanks to his busy schedule, cricketer MS Dhoni, who enrolled in St Xavier’s College in Ranchi, has been unable to take exams for the past two years.

The hot babe of B-town Kareena Kapor had her first taste of ‘real’ action while shooting for ‘Agent Vinod’.


The actress, who has attempted in doing her own stunts in the film, recently had a bad fall which sprained her neck.


According to sources, Bebo recently shot a sequence where she had to eject from a helicopter using a harness and fire guns while at it. She fell from the harness at some distance from the ground, spraining her neck. She was in a lot of pain and couldn't get up. Immediately the medial team rushed to her and also, her beau Saif who was shooting in another set nearby.


Surprisingly, Kareena resumed shooting after taking painkillers and injections. Although she was visibly bruised, the actress took it very sportily and completed the shoot.


Moreover, Kareena was overall excited to do the stunt scenes and enjoyed shooting them. “I have not done this kind of action before. I had a neck sprain as I had to do a fall from the harness. I never thought I would enjoy action but I am surprised how much I love it here. Peter, the action guy, makes things so easy,” said the beauty.

The event was also graced by Union Sports Minister Ajay Maken, state education minister Rajendra Darda, actors Jackie Shroff and Jeetendra and industrialist Gautam Singhania. Others who received the award on the occasion include Kalpana Joshi, Sanjay Gaikwad (industry), Bhagwan Rampure (arts), Kavita Raut (sports), Dr Ravindra Kolhe and Smita Kolhe (social service, science and technology). The jury members included former High Court judge B.N.Deshmukh, Dr Raghunath Mashelkar, Anna Hazare, Lila Poonawala, Gulzar, Rajdeep Sardesai and Dilip Vengsarkar. Speaking on the occasion, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said, “Democratic systems and free media are true strengths of the state”. Delivering the welcome speech, Lokmat director and Rajya Sabha MP, Vijay Darda, voiced concerns about malnutrition, slow industrial progress rate, and farmers’ suicide among other aspects plaguing society. The event also marked a social cause where Sanjeev Gupta of the leading outdoor branding agency Global Advertisers donated a sum for an adivasi (tribal) community clinic, earning applause from the audience.

Some of the biggest male and female actors of the Marathi film industry became members of MNCKS during its ongoing membership drive, said union general secretary Shalini Thackeray. She is the wife of Jeetendra Thackeray, a cousin of MNS founder Raj Thackeray, the estranged nephew of Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray.
‘So far, we have notched over 25,000 members, both from the Marathi film industry as well as Hindi film industry. And the list is growing,’ Thackeray told IANS.

Catch the first look of Shahrukh Khan’s much-awaited film Ra.One. The superstar will be playing a superhero.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha, Ra. one is produced under Khan’s production company, Red Chillies Entertainment. According to Khan, “Ra.One” means “Random Access – Version 1.0. The flick also has Arjun Rampal essaying the role of SRK’s arch foe and Kareena Kapoor who plays SRK’s love interest.
The film has “breathtaking” stunts from Shahrukh Khan. A special body suit was designed for SRK’s character.
SRK hopes to create the sci-fi history in Indian cinema. The film also has a song by Akon.

Rekha was also upset that her role was cut short later. It is said that Vidya demanded to see the entire script before joining the camp which did not go down too well with the director. Maybe the makers thought that the name Rajnikant was enough to make Vidya sign the dotted line.
Now that Rekha has dropped out, the filmmakers are eyeing Hema Malini to fill in for her. We’ll just have to wait and watch as to who joins ‘Rana’ next.

Rakhi rejects a Hollywood project because of love making scenes…?

If buzz is to be believed, Rakhi Sawant claims to have rejected a film with Hollywood star Russel Crowe because the script demanded making love on screen and Rakhi wasn’t very comfortable.

“Mujhe do offers aaye thay (I had received two offers), but just because of my broken English, and the bed scenes and smooch scenes involved, I have refused the movies,” says Rakhi, and adds, “They wanted me to do sex scenes. Gladiator ke hero Russell Crowe ke saath movie thi (It was a movie with the ‘Gladiator’ hero Russel Crowe). They wanted me to wear a two-piece, but I was not comfortable with it. I am even okay doing a pole dance, but not smooching scenes.”
If you find that hard to believe, here’s something more believable: Rakhi will play a sex teacher Delnaz Doodhwala in Ashfaque Makrani’s Qasam Se Qasam. Apart from the obvious pun in her character’s name, isn’t that a tad contradictory? “It’s a message that I am giving to the kids. It is also important to tell them about safety. That is my message through the movie,” says Rakhi

Salman Khan is ever ready to help and promote young talent. The latest we hear is that he will make a cameo appearance in newbie Narmmadaa Ahuja’s film.
Well, Narmmadaa is the lovely daughter of Govinda who is also a good friend of Salman Khan. News has it that Govinda is going all out to ensure that his daughter makes as much mark as Sonakshi with her first film.
Narmmadaa will make her debut along side boxer Vijender Singh, who is also debuting in director Lovely Singh’s film called Manchali.
“It’s an out-and-out love story. No sports at all. We waited so long for Nammo’s debut because we didn’t want her to make the wrong start. We’re convinced this is the right project for her. She will have to work hard to prove herself. I just don’t want her to struggle the way I did. I’m still struggling.”
Not just that. The director is said to be modifying the script to make space for not just Govinda but also Salman Khan too.

Says a source close to Kapoor,
“Bebo was to attend the international film festival. Cole was already there to perform a 30-minute set at a party thrown by luxury jewellery firm de Grisogono on May 18 at the Hotel du Cap.The singer had performed in front of a star-studded crowd including Naomi Campbell and fashion heir Margherita Missoni. The organisers heard that Cole was keen on meeting the Indian actress and an invitation for the A-List event was sent out to her.”
The source adds that Kareena, who’s shooting for Golmaal 3 in Goa, had to give it a miss.
“Though her managers were informed of the invitation, Bebo herself had to turn it down as the Golmaal 3 schedule in Goa had been fixed months ago and they were shooting the film’s climax with the entire cast (20 people in all). There was no way she could have opted out and made it to the party in France.”
Says Bebo, “I was invited to attend Cheryl’s party but was in Goa and overworked. Of course, it would have been fun to go and I would have loved to attend. I love her songs and was very keen on meeting her. Maybe I’ll meet her if I go to Cannes next year.”

Actress Sonakshi Sinha wants to prove that she is truly “Dabangg” when it comes to her professional career. Brushing aside the rumours that she wants to refrain from doing item numbers, the actress came out saying that she is not scared of doing them.
The 23-year-old, who has shown her dancing expertise on stage at various award shows earlier this year, revealed that she has no problems in joining the lines of Katrina Kaif, Malaika Arora Khan and Mallika Sherawat by doing an item number, but she has to be comfortable in doing so.
“I’m not scared of doing item numbers. For me, when I did stage shows, I was wearing what I was comfortable in and the moves that I was doing were also what I was comfortable doing. So all depends on comfort. If what is offered to me, I’m comfortable doing that, then I might just take it up. I’m not averse to it,” Sonakshi told reporters here.
Sonakshi, the daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, has laid down various rules for herself. She has been maintaining that she won’t be doing any kissing scenes in films and also won’t sport a bikini on screen ever.
Yet the budding actress has been getting plump Bollywood offers. After her debut film “Dabangg” with Salman Khan, the actress will be seen in “Joker” with Akshay Kumar and is also a part of “Race 2″.
At an event Tuesday, she was also named as the brand ambassador of fashion brand Provogue, that has had actors like Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Fardeen Khan and Katrina Kaif endorsing it in the past.
“I’m very happy to be associated with Provogue. I think they’ve seen how my career is shaping up and they think that I’m able to contribute to their brand in some way as a brand ambassador.
