Om Puri's 'wife No. 3'

Om Puri's 'wife No. 3'

'West Is West' producer Leslee Udwinis is deeply in love with the veteran actor
When you are in love, there is nothing like standing on top of a mountain and shouting it out to the world. And this is exactly what Leslee Udwin, the producer of West Is West, sequel to the smash hit East Is East, is doing as she talks about her feelings for her movie's lead actor Om Puri.
Twice lucky
Taking her affectations for the senior actor to the next level, the 53-year-old Brit declares that she is so in love that she doesn't mind being his third wife. "I don't mind being his wife No. 3," Leslie lets us know, referring to Om's twice-married character in WIW as well as his much-publicised twice-married status in real life.
Heart on sleeve
According to sources, Leslie has carried a torch in her heart for Puri ever since they worked together in EIE in 1999. However, when the sequel was being shot in rural Punjab, the two really warmed up to each other. Apparently, the 61-year-old actor took it on himself to teach her Hindi. "Mera dil Om ke liye dhadkta hai," Leslee tells us in fluent Hindi."Thanks to him I feel so much a part of India and its culture. We're in Punjab where West Is West was shot. We are screening the film for all the people in the villages here who made it possible," she further adds.Om wrote out a speech in Punjabi for her, which she read out for the people of Punjab. "He wrote it for me. I don't understand a word of Punjabi. I just rattled off whatever he wrote. Oh yes, I trust him blindly," says the actor-producer.
Wife doesn't mind
When reminded that Om's wife won't like this open display of affection between her husband and his producer, she confidently retorts, "Oh she knows how I feel about Om. I don't think she minds at all. Om is my jaan."

Shahrukh challenges Salman with 'Ra. One'?

Shahrukh challenges Salman with 'Ra. One'?
Shahrukh Khan is going through multi city promotional drive to launch the theatrical promo of 'Ra. One'. That when the film is still close to five months away. Unprecedented, some may say. Sinister, some may argue. There is a reason behind that. Salman Khan's 'Ready' releases this Friday and an entire campaign by Shahrukh during the days when world would have been getting 'ready' for 'Ready' doesn't appear to be a mere coincidence.

"Well, it is coincidental after all," says Anubhav Sinha, director of 'Ra. One' which is inarguably the biggest film that Bollywood has seen till date, "Our VFX guys had been working on giving the final touch on the 90 seconds of 'Ra. One' that we wanted to show to the audience. Once they were ready late last month, we decided to package it all and make it a part of our promotional drive."
One wonders though if this was really required, especially since things have relatively cooled down between the two Khans years after that ugly episode at Katrina Kaif's birthday. Shahrukh has in fact even apologised to Salman through 'Koffee With Karan' while Salman too is wishing him luck for his films on record as well. In fact Shahrukh has reciprocated Salman's gesture too stating that his children are waiting for 'Ready'. However the fact remains that this mega drive by Shahrukh for 'Ra. One' has eaten away at least some bit of media attention away from Salman's 'Ready'.
"There isn't much to comment here. Unveiling of our theatrical promo was always planned around this time," are Anubhav's final words before he signs off.

Kajol to star in YRF flick?

Kajol  to  star in  YRF  flick?

Might play the lead in Yash Chopra's directorial come-back, supposedly starring King Khan and Katrina

Is Yash Chopra planning to recreate Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge magic with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in his directorial next?

We recently spotted the actress at the YRF studios and sources inform that it was more than just a casual visit.
Rumours are rife that the film, a romantic saga, will star SRK and Katrina Kaif in the lead role. However, there is another spot in the movie and YRF's favourite actress, Kads is being considered for it.

The source reveals, "Chopra is very keen to have Kads opposite Shah Rukh. He is quite fond of both of them and loves their onscreen pairing. He feels that they can create the same magic."

"While it's sure that Katrina will star in the film, it could be possible that the movie is a love triangle and that they have approached Kajol to either reprise the other romantic lead or do a cameo," the source further adds.

The filmmaker who has directed movies like Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Silsila, etc. is returning to direction after seven years, with a romantic film. His last directorial venture was Veer Zara in 2004.

I can't dance like Hrithik Roshan nor do I have a six pack: R Madhavan

I can't dance like Hrithik Roshan nor do I have a six pack: R Madhavan

He has a decade-old career in Bollywood and an equally good run down south but actor R Madhavan says he doesn't sit back and relax with offers just pouring in.

The actor, who has shone with hitslike 3 idiotsRang De Basanti andTanu Weds Manu, says that his choice is limited to a good scripts and his USP is his acting as he doesn't have the added advantage of dancing skills or a hot body.
"I am known for my acting skills and doing good roles so I have to wait for the perfect oppurtunity. I can't dance like Hrithik neither do I have a six pack that I can take up any role," Madhavan saidin an interview.
The 40-year-old has shared screen space with other stars in most of his hits, but doesn't mind doing so as long the role is equally distributed.
"I don't mind sharing the space on screen as long as I am given equal recognition, like Aamir Khan does. But ideally I would love to do lead roles," said Madhavan, who was in the capital to attend an event by Maruti Suzuki WagonR.
The actor says he is a big fan of Sunny Deol and would love to do a movie with him.
"I am a big fan of Sunny Deol, I just love him. I have almost watched all his movies and would love to do a movie with him," he said.
Madhavan hasn't signed any Bollywood project after his recent hit Tanu Weds Mannu. He is doing a movie Vettai down south, where he plays a cop.
He is amongst the few actors who have achieved success in Hindi as well as Tamil cinema and manages to keep his fans happy in both places.
"I don't think about it as working in two places, I just think of it as doing variety roles. I have planned my career like that and I am happy that it has shaped up so well. What worked for me is knowing both Hindi and Tamil, I think that is the reason I managed to do well," he said.
Madhavan has always maintained his distance from the media and is happy the way his relation has been with them.
"I am very glad that people recognise me and want to know more about me but I prefer staying in news only for my work rather than doing mundane things for unnecessary publicity," he said.

First Look: Katrina-Hrithik the hottest new pair in town

First Look: Katrina-Hrithik

the hottest new pair in town

They are all set to create a drizzle of sizzle. Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif are poised to become the hottest new pair in town. Katrina who has earlier sizzled with Akshay Kumar in a string of hits has found a new favourite. After shooting together in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Katrina and Hrithik are recommending one another to as many filmmakers as possible.

Says a source, “Both Katrina and Hrithik feel their on-screen chemistry is incredible. They were also very impressed by one another’s professionalism during the shooting of Zindagi…so much so that the unit referred to Hrithik as ‘the male Katrina’ and to Katrina as the ‘female Hrithik. ’ They are both married to excellence, you see. ”

Oh yes, and Katrina has one other ace up her sleeve. Hrithik’s kids adore her.

“So it’s all in the family, you see, ” says the source. Hrithik was very keen that Katrina do Krissh 3. But she had committed all her dates to Yashraj. Next year she has promised to keep time for at least two films with Hrithik.

We don’t know about zindagi. But yeh jodi milegi phir dobara.

Shilpa Shetty's UK estate taken over by squatter gang

Shilpa Shetty's UK estate taken over by squatter gang

A private estate in Britain that is home to a host of celebrities - including Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty - is reportedly being taken over by a gang of squatters.

The celebrity residents of the St. George's Hill community in Weybridge, Surrey, are now being asked to be "vigilant" following the arrival of the squatters, the Daily Mail reported.

Former residents of the estate include singer Elton John, former Beatle Ringo Starr and Hollywood actress Kate Winslet.

Six squatters reportedly moved into the abandoned three million pound, six-bedroom Woodlawn Cottage on the exclusive estate in April, and claim they were not acting illegally.

The property was reportedly abandoned six years ago and has since become derelict. The squatters say they plan to stay as long as possible.

"It is legal for me to be here. I found the place on Google maps so I came up to have a look and the place was open. The locks had been broken off, no one was living here, it was completely open - so why not?" a squatter named Stefan Cybulski said.

Homeowners now say they want the illegal movers out.

"It does seem pretty extraordinary that the police can't do anything to get these people off the estate," a resident said.

"They have no right to be here, yet the law appears to be on their side - it's completely wrong."

Properties on the estate are worth nearly 10 million pounds.

A security guard is now being employed to keep the property under surveillance. Police have set up extra patrol of the area.

Despite success, what made Arshad go slow?

Despite success, what made Arshad go slow?

With two hits in ISHQIYA and GOLMAAL 3 as well as F.A.L.T.U (where he was seen in an extended special appearance act) turning into successful outings, it seems like Arshad is pretty much sitting at an enviable position after spending a decade and a half in the industry. Though he would be seen in DOUBLE DHAMAAL soon, in the year gone by he didn't sign too many films. One wonders what made him go slow when he could have rather made hay as the sun shone.

'See, for me how the thing is that I don't really care about how things 'must' be done. If someone tells me that 'this is how you have to do things', I may not really give it all much consideration', says Arshad, 'I don't care if some time goes by before I sign a new film. I do keep hearing films but I do only those which I really like. I have now said okay to ZILA GHAZIABAD, JOLLY LLB and ISHQIYA 2. Moreover for next year too I am planning a few more films. I for sure would be lot busier in months to follow.'

Check Out: Asha Bhosle's look in Maaee

Check Out: Asha Bhosle's look in

Maaee

It's common knowledge by now that veteran playback singer Asha Bhosle is making her acting debut on the big screen in Maaee. We got a few stills of Ashaji on the sets of her maiden film

From the images it can be observed that Ashaji has been made to look older that she does in real life. This is because she is playing a grandmother and the makers felt that a few streaks of grey hair would make her look the part.

Principle shooting of Maaee is almost complete. The film tells the poignant tale of what happens when a woman is abandoned by her only son and then goes to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

Maaee is directed by Mahesh Kodiyal and produced by Subhash Dawar and Nitin Shankar. One of the highlights of the film is the title track which will be sung by none other than legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar.

Leopard strays into Hema Malini's bungalow

Leopard strays into
Hema Malini's bungalow

A leopard strayed into the bungalow of Bollywood actor Hema Malini in Mumbai today morning, triggering panic.
The leopard, believed to have come from the adjoining Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), was spotted by a security guard in the premises in Dindoshi area of northwest Mumbai.
The actor was not at home at the time of the incident.
Neighbours immediately alerted the park authorities who sent a team equipped with tranquilisers and a cage to trap the wild cat, Chief Conservator of Forests S. A. Thorat said.
The park, spread over around 100 square km, has over five dozen leopards and many other wild animals living in the thick forests.
Leopards often stray into houses in the neighbourhood including the Film City, Aarey Milk Colony, Dahisar, Borivli, Kandivli, Malad, Goregaon, Mulund and Bhandup.
There have been instances of leopards getting killed by speeding vehicles on the Western Express and Eastern Express highways.
