To understand the body language of SPG bodyguards, Salman Khan watched the last two World Cup matches.
Salman Khan is not a huge cricket fan but despite that he made it a point to watch the last two matches of the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Not because he was glued to the game but for a different reason altogether.
Salman Khan plays the title role in the remake of a south super hit film Bodyguard . And for this particular character he watched the last two matches of the cricket world cup intently, as there were lots of VVIPs in the stadium moving along with the general crowds. "Salman wanted to observe how the bodyguards of these VVIPs and the SPG ( Special Protection Group), a highly trained security personnel, in charge of the security for the Prime Minister and the likes of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi operate", says a source associated with the film.
The source adds, "Salman wanted to observe how these bodyguards manage the VVIPs in a crowd situation, how they move about in the crowd and how they take care of these important people. He wanted to make the most of the situation by noticing them while on the job".
In fact these observations seem to have benefited Salman immensely. "He has even made subtle changes in his character where required for the film Bodyguard , after observing these men at work", says the source.
When asked about the same, Atul Agnihotre, producer of Bodyguard says, "Yes, Salman Khan, though not a frantic cricket-buff, watched the India Pakistan match without missing a second. He wanted to know the body language of SPG. These guys are trained to blend and protect Z plus personalities. All protection is an eye play".
